About Me

I have extensive experience of working one-to-one with adults and young people in a variety of NHS and private settings. Within these settings I have helped clients with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues and loss.

Having completed my doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, I am currently registered as a chartered Counselling Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also registered as a psychotherapist with the UK Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

What to expect in the first session

Seeing a therapist for the first time can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. I hope that in our introductory session together you will feel welcome and relaxed as we discuss what your expectations are of the therapy and what I can offer. I can explain more about how counselling works and answer any questions you have.

The first session is an opportunity to see if you feel comfortable working with me. It is also a chance for us to discuss the terms of the therapy including the times you are able to attend.

I provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment in which you can discuss your concerns and worries freely. I’m aware that it can sometimes feel very difficult to talk to those closest to you about your innermost thoughts and feelings. Speaking to a professional can relieve the isolation and misunderstanding that this can create.

Working together

I am able to offer short- and long-term face-to-face therapy, as well as therapy via online video link. The sessions take place once a week and last 50 minutes.

We will work collaboratively throughout the process. Whether we work together for a short time or over a longer period, there will be regular points at which we review the therapy. This is important to make sure that you are getting the help and support that you need.
